From attending Grand River Chapter AGMs, Meet & Greets, or participating in our many events, there are several ways to get involved with the Grand River PEO Chapter; including volunteering.

To volunteer contact the Chapter Chair or Committee Chairs.  We are always open to new voices on any of our committees!

Communication Committee

  • Responsible for all Chapter communications with Grand River Chapter members.
  • Prepares Grand River Chapter newsletter, website and e-mail notifications to be read by Chapter members.
  • Maintains communication between Grand River Chapter board members.
  • Works with PEO head office to implement new initiatives for communication with Chapter members.

Operations Committee

  • Ensures that Chapter activities are aligned with the PEO’s essential purposes of a chapter.
  • Conveys relevant information from PEO head office to Chapter board members. Also raises any questions or concerns of Chapter members though PEO Regional Council.
  • Prepares Chapter budget, oversees Chapter finances, and arranges for annual Chapter audit before submission to PEO head office.
  • Oversees the smooth execution Chapter activities.

Education Committee

  • Works with schools at the elementary school, high school and university level to further promote the engineering profession.
  • Carry out engineering-related education events to broaden the engineering profession.
  • Attend local career forums to be on hand and answer questions that students interested in entering the engineering profession may have.
  • Liaises with PEO Education Committee and participates in annual PEO Education Conference to promote Province-wide engineering education agenda.

Events Committee

  • Plans, organizes and implements technical tours and seminars throughout the year for Chapter members.
  • Proposes new ideas for consideration as a Chapter evens.
  • Organizes monthly Chapter Board meetings.
  • Liaises with Communications Committee on messaging of events.

Government Liaison Program

  • Engages local Members of Provincial Parliament in dialogue about issues pertaining to the engineering profession, using messaging from PEO head office.  Also responds to any requests for assistance by MPP’s on government issues pertaining to the profession.
  • Arranges for local MPP participation in Chapter functions when required.
  • Assists with the implementation of the GLP Academy.


  • Engages Engineers-in-Training (EITs) and students registered in the Student Membership Program (SMP).
  • Arranges EIT and SMP specific events
